IL CINEMA RITROVATO 2026: RITWIK GHATAK & SANGHITA SEN ESTUVIERON AQUÍ

Uno de los momentos más destacados de este año fue el programa dedicado a Ritwik Ghatak titulado “Soil of Bengal, Water of Bengal”, comisariado por la Dra. Sanghita Sen, cineasta y estudiosa del cine que trabaja en la Universidad de Northumbria en Newcastle, cuya investigación se centra en el cine bengalí de la década de 1970 realizado por Mrinal Sen, Ritwik Ghatak y Satyajit Ray, en el marco de una historiografía transnacional del Tercer Cine, y Shivendra Singh Durgapur, cineasta, archivista y restaurador, y exalumno de Ghatak en el Instituto de Cine y Televisión de la India. Los vínculos personales entre los curadores y el cineasta dieron lugar a una experiencia pedagógica especialmente apasionada, conmovedora y emocionante.

IL CINEMA RITROVATO 2026: RITWIK GHATAK & SANGHITA SEN WERE HERE

The Cineteca Bologna’s Il Cinema Ritrovato celebrated its 40th anniversary this June. A cinephile’s paradise, the festival showcases “found”, re-discovered and restored films, from all over the world, projected in eight indoor cinema theaters across the town center and with public screenings taking place every night in the Piazza Maggiore. As a XL festival, there were more films than usual this year -about 500 between shorts and features, compared to last year’s  400+ film program. The heat was also XL, with temperatures reaching 40 degrees Celsius. The heatwave did not deter viewers, however, as the festival reported its largest attendance yet, with over 145,000 attendees.
