As part of the recent edition of the Al Este de Lima festival, the Austrian filmmaker Jessica Hausner gave a masterclass, where she delved into her work before a Peruvian audience. In this framework, we were able to talk with her about her motivations, her staging and her female leading characters.

With over six features under her sleeve, Austrian filmmaker Jessica Hausner returns to Cannes yet again, but this time with a feature film in the official competition: an exercise in science fiction but with quotas of family drama, stylized and plentiful in carefully composed tonalities and different color pallets. It’s a science fiction film with touches of horror, elegant and refined.

Con más de seis largos en su haber, la cineasta austriaca Jessica Hausner regresa una vez más a Cannes, pero en esta oportunidad con un largo en la competencia oficial: un ejercicio de ciencia ficción pero también con cuotas de drama familiar, estilizado y devoto de escenas con cuidadas tonalidades en diversas paletas de colores. Una ciencia ficción con toques de horror depurada y elegante.
